Oh the Joys of the Public Library

My boredom has gotten the best of me.  As I sit in a public library (one of the best places to get internet and research stupid stat lines that mean nothing to anyone but me) I have caught myself staring at the two pretty girls sitting next to me studying and I figured that I need to do something productive with my time.

I’ve been checking out MLB.com lately and the subject of the First Year Players draft has been one of the hottest topics of conversation on there lately.  Now, I am one of the few baseball fans that I know personally that loves the draft and was grateful that ESPN decided to show it last year.  I wan the MLB draft to have all of the craziness surrounding it like the NFL draft.  Now that most likely won’t happen but I can dream.  This years likely first pick is a kid out of San Diego State, Strasburg, that is just phenomenal!  He has been recorded hurling triple digit heat and he has supporting pitches to go along with it.  I just can’t wait.  But now that I have said something, I can’t even find the pages that have draft info on them anymore!  Stupid internet.  Oh well.  At least this is keeping me from creeping out the ladies next door.  (Even though I must admit, it is fun to creep sometimes!)
Next, what is going on with the Rox?  To borrow a phrase from the Rockiescast dudes, C’mon guys!  Why can’t we give the DLR just one win.  He has been lights out recently but we can’t give him any run support.  FSN showed a chart yesterday that showed that DLR has the fourth lowest run support in the NL!  How?  The Rockies always score runs.  Not this year.  We can seem to score, even if the drunk girl from prom walked up to them.  UHHHH!
Well, that was probably uncalled for, but those of you that know me personally will understand.  Here is to a better rest of the season and hopefully my temper will cool off.
Peace,
Bleeding Purple

I need to read up on this draft, so I can see who my Giants might try to end up getting.

BP, look forward to the draft too! And I love public libraries. If you are ever in L.A. the downtown library is a great place. The computer lab is big with lots of computers and the sports room is large. i easly spend a couple of hours there. I highly recommend the tour. People forget that libraries are a great place to get internet access or if you want to print something.
